To develop the ground breaking open world project that they're working on, they need an experience Network Architect to plan and implement the network architecture for the project. This role involves both leading the network programming team and working with other technical teams to communicate the network requirements and limitations as well as working with third parties on server infrastructure.
You and your team will be developing core networking functionality, defining APIs and frameworks for the rest of the code team, bulding high performance, dependable networking sytems for the game.
You'll be working across the codebase, from low-level networking protocols, game-level systems and back-end server architecture.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have excellent C++ skills and a background in video game network programming for console or PC, ideally on a large scale. You'll also have some experience in managing, leading and mentoring others.
What else you bring to the table in terms of skills and knowledge is up to you as whilst you'll be using AWS services – including some use of Lumberyard technologies such as GridMate or GameLift - with a lot of custom solutions as well - an appeal of the job is that much of that is yet to be worked through in detail, so you'll have a large role to play in deciding upon the technologies and architecture themselves.
